Coaching for Transformation
I coach individuals to build leadership, awareness, and growth. My approach calls out the gifts we possess in our bodies, minds, and spirits.
My Coaching
I bring to coaching over 20 years of experience as an Episcopal priest in parish ministry. Individual work, group facilitation, and community organizing have been highlights of my work. I am a Licensed Daring Way Facilitator, an International Coaching Federation trained coach, and have been sent from The Living School at The Center for Action and Contemplation. All of this and my lived experience of survival, recovery, failure, and success come to bear on my work with others. I coach people in several areas.
Vocation and Work
Perhaps you want to develop your leadership or take on a new project. Maybe you are discerning a transition in your vocation. From my own journey, I can offer encouragement and guidance to other clergy and church professionals. We can get you out of that preaching rut or navigate the early days with a congregation. I am certainly not limited to the clergy or religious folks.
Life and Relationships
Sometimes we need a listening ear and some guidance in day-to-day relationships. As a coach, I can help you explore motivation, goals, and next steps. I am not a therapist. We will not dig deep into your past to look for the root of your struggles. We will utilize observation and awareness to consider the present and move confidently into the future.
Spirituality
We are all spiritual and sometimes need a companion to walk with us without judgment. Maybe you want to start a more formal practice. Perhaps you have been “deconstructing” your faith. I know that journey and can accompany you on some reconstruction. I am rooted in the Christian tradition with a focus on the mystical and contemplative paths. I am certainly open to those of other faith traditions or no faith at all.
About Coaching
The coaching process empowers individuals to discover their own resources for change. This is not therapy. While some psychological insights may be used, the process does not focus on uncovering the past roots of current problems.
We might contract for 6 sessions over 3 months or 6 months. Most folks meet at least monthly when receiving coaching. The process will involve naming the changes you want to make or issues you want to confront and taking the next right steps for you.
Currently, I am charging $50 per session. Please pay via my scheduling system. I am offering this rate as I accrue hours for further accreditation. I can negotiate lower rates for special circumstances. I charge for this service as it is important for the individual to invest in their growth, and because I have spent money and time learning and developing my skill. I continue to study and seek experiences to strengthen my coaching.
We can meet via Zoom, over the phone, or in person in Knoxville. We can verify how you would like to meet after you make your appointment.
